A Christmas Carol - A One-Man Ghost Story adapted by William Leach
Brevard College 2022

In this version, one actor steps into each role, guiding us down that well-worn path of a story. But with one person, we suddenly start to notice the path with a new awareness. Without the glitz and spectacle characteristic of a lot of Holiday Entertainment, the tender heart of Dickens’ story shines. Gone are the Hallmark-Channel platitudes and consumerism, and instead we see people who desperately need one another. We see the complex web of human connection that is our life, and we see one man find his way back to himself. I think we can all agree that this is just as urgently needed today as it was in 1843.
