Nice to meet you!
I'm a Teacher, Actor, Musician, Director, Voice Over Artist, and hobby junkie. Based in North Carolina, I'm an Assistant Professor of Theatre at Brevard College in beautiful Brevard, North Carolina.
As a performer, I've been seen regionally from Chicago to Montana, Cape Cod to Virginia and many places between.
A graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, The Hartt School, and UNC Chapel Hill's Professional Actor Training Program (PATP) I've spent the better part of two decades developing curiosity and community through Fine Arts and performance.
From Stage Combat to Music Direction, Shakespeare to devised work, my focus is in bringing Fine Arts and top-quality arts education to communities throughout the country that would otherwise have limited access, and to allow students access to a whole level of expression they weren't aware they had.
Brevard College Theatre will open its '22/'23 season with John Patrick Shanley's The Dreamer Examines His Pillow directed by Abbey Toot. Running October 6th, 7th and 9th. Tickets are available here.
Immediately following the run of our first show, we will dive into rehearsals for the second show of our season: Keith Bunin's The World Over. Directed by yours truly, The World Over is a sweeping adventure tale infused with puppetry, music and physical story-telling. This will be my directorial debut, so stay tuned for tickets and more info!
This Holiday Season...
I'll be bringing a Christmas classic to the Porter Center at Brevard College December 2nd and 3rd.
Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol has never had a more timely or urgent message for communities today, so join me as I present the Holiday favorite in a whole new way: Solo!
In this adaptation by William Leach, Scrooge, Cratchit, Tiny Tim and all the rest, are in one body presented in a comfortable, intimate setting to get you and the family in the Christmas Spirit, and perhaps reflect on how we've been a "Scrooge" in our own life. Ticket info to come!
The Big Summer Tour of 2022
The Toots have travelled a little over 3,000 miles this summer as our work has taken us to Boulder, CO, Charlottesville, VA, and back to our stomping grounds in Chicago.
The work started with a couple months in the loving community of Tara Performing Arts High School, a Waldorf School in Boulder where my dear wife directed the school edition of Les Mis as yours-truly helped with staging and fight choreography.
Immediately following our time in the rockies, we piled in the car (dog included!) and headed back east to Charlottesville, VA to perform in Little Women. Let me tell you... Being back onstage after two-and-a-half years away? How sweet it is.
After a brief stop in Chicago so Abbey could shoot a short film (more to come there!), we are back home in Brevard and ready to take the madness and fun of the summer and tease out some exploration in the classroom.
